This team has me completely tied in knots. When I read rumors that Elton Brand is being shopped, I just don't know how to feel about the situation. Earlier in the week, I posited a couple of trades (one involving Brand) which could clear significant cap space this summer, and the logic for making the moves. The logic still holds, but it still just doesn't sit well. Full story

Should We Want Monta?

Almost immediately following the Stephen Jackson trade, word broke out in Oakland that another Warrior was being shopped, Monta Ellis. Jackson was a dynamic player, saddled with a bad contract and inflated offensive numbers that hold up much better when you're glancing at a box score, but wilt in a spreadsheet. Attitude Counts For So Much

A rumored swap of big men got me thinking about our very own man in the middle. Apparently, New Orleans and Charlotte are talking about a deal sending Emeka Okafor to the Big Easy, and Tyson Chandler back east to the Bobcats. The Mill Grinds On

It's rare that a rumor is denied before I even catch wind of it, but it happened today. The rumor apparently sprung from a report in the South Florida Sun Sentinel, but for the life of me I can't find the original source. Anyway, Ed Stefanski quickly shot it down, and later today Bethlehem Shoals had his own take on the matter for the Sporting News. We'll examine the rumor after the jump and I'll give my take. The Orlando Magic were dealt a huge blow tonight when Jameer Nelson went down with a dislocated shoulder. I'd say best-case scenario is a time line similar to Elton Brand's for return, but he may opt for surgery depending on how severe the dislocation is. Full story

A Market Correction?

Since last season, there's been one shooting guard who I thought would be an excellent fit for the Sixers. Mike Miller is the knock-down shooter the team has desperately needed. He has great size for the position, doesn't need to dominate the ball to get his numbers and crashes the boards. The problem, to this point, has been the competition the Sixers would face from other teams if Miller became available via trade.
